FREE COMBINED ACCESS TO DIFFERENT TECHNIQUES

NFFA-EUROPE provides free access to state- of-the art tools for multidisciplinary, frontier research at the nanoscale, scaling up to the micro-world: available techniques range from nanocharacterization to theory and numerical simulation. Advanced infrastructures for growth, lithography, characterization, theory and simulation and fine-analysis with Synchrotron, FEL and Neutron radiation sources are integrated in a multi-site combination which users can access free of charge. This provides them with a unique, integrated access which is not currently available at single specialized sites.

NO COSTS

NFFA EUROPE welcomes both industry and academia: access will be coordinated through a single entry point at the NFFA. EU portal, through which users will dialogue with a team of experts in the fields of their interest, building a personalized access programme. Sites will be available free of charge, and NFFA Europe will also provide a partial support for travel and subsistence costs for users while accessing the identified installations.

OUR SCIENTIFIC CHALLENGE

NFFA-EUROPE will address key bottlenecks of nanoscience research, offering the possibility to study the correlation between structure and properties at the nanoscale and the micro-nature of the system. NFFA-EUROPE laboratories have complementary capabilities in performing nanoscience projects. Partners offering transnational access are research laboratories of national or international research institutions staffed with professional scientists and technical personnel as well as post-doctoral fellows carrying out institutional research programmes at the forefront of science and with a high profile track record. Many experimental “nanofoundry” laboratories are co-located with ALSFs, while theory and numerical simulation laboratories operate advanced codes and have access to high-performance computing. NFFA-Europe gives to the user the chance to access to all these competences and technical possibilities in a coordinated way through a single entry point.
