UNG The University of Nova Gorica is a young, research-oriented university, comprising seven schools and eleven research units. The university hosts the Laboratory of Quantum Optics (LKO) that was built in 2012, in strong collaboration with Elettra-Sincrotrone Trieste (Italy), thanks to the CITIUS project, financed by the Italy-Slovenia Cross Border Cooperation Programme. Since 2018, LKO is open to the users of the synchrotron Elettra and of the FERMI VUV free-electron laser in operation at Elettra-Sincrotrone Trieste.
