IMB-CNM hosts eight different R+D+I groups doing technology-intensive science with micro and nanotechnologies dealing with microelectronics and physical, chemical and biomedical micro and nanosystems. It owns the largest R&D cleanroom of Spain (1500 m2), which is the flexible micro and nanofabrication environment where those devices and systems are researched and manufactured. With this technologies, IMB-CNM has fabricated structures and devices deployed in such unfriendly scenarios as the cytoplasm of living cells, the inside a gigantic detector at CERN or on board of ESA space missions. Additional laboratories for rapid prototyping and system characterization are available.
