NFFA-Europe at RTI Summit 2025

NFFA-Europe participated in the RTI Summit 2025, held on 22-23 October at Scandic Copenhagen, Denmark, with a dedicated exhibition booth that highlighted its commitment to advancing Research and Technology Infrastructures (RTIs) across Europe.

The RTI Summit brought together more than 300 high-level participants and over 40 exhibitors, including leading voices from the innovation ecosystem. This landmark event served as a pivotal platform to shape the ambitions and implementation strategies of the new European framework for RTIs.

Throughout the summit, NFFA-Europe representatives attended the presentation on the new European strategy for accelerating the RTI-driven competitiveness and innovation, in particular discussing new financing models and sustainability strategies for RTIs. Thematic sessions focus on strategic and key enabling technologies including quantum computing, semiconductors, energy systems, and circular materials.

The exhibition booth was a valuable opportunity to present the NFFA-Europe infrastructure and highlight the upcoming future upgrade plans.
NFFA-Europe (NEP) is currently executing Transnational Access (TA) until February 2027, while actively developing new approaches for interoperability across platforms, real-time correlative analysis, and FAIR-by-design data management strategies.  After ten years of successful operation, NFFA-Europe has designed a major upgrade to address emerging challenges in matter and materials science. The upcoming NFFA2050 initiative is currently a candidate for inclusion in the ESFRI Roadmap 2026 and integrates artificial intelligence and automation to enable hybrid research workflows.

The participation to the RTI Summit allowed NFFA-Europe to strategically engage with policymakers and industry stakeholders, highlighting its role on European innovation. Furthermore, the event facilitated meaningful exchanges with other infrastructures, which helped foster key synergies and collaboration opportunities.
